What is a QuickTime VR?

This remarkable technology enables you to digitally “see” 360 degrees around a part/product -- as if you were actually walking around it. Check out this glass sculpture by Catherine Rohn.
It can also create 360 degree panoramics of an area – imagine standing in one place and spinning to see what is around you.
Check out panoramics of The John And Mable Ringling Museum or the 1900 Beechcraft flight simulator at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Either of these applications are terrific on websites as well as DVD/CD presentations and digital brochures.
Also amazing is the ability to create what are called Hot Spots within these files that are clickable. For example, a visitor could virtually tour your facility, room by room, just by clicking on a door that leads into the next room!
Or, by changing view states, get a closer look inside a product; notice the panel door that opens and closes on the video camera sample shown on this site.
The applications are endless -- from virtually displaying your product online to showcasing your facility.
